Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Leviticus 20:26. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Leviticus 13:18-59 & 14:1-18 (Going Deeper: Luke 5:12-14)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
WIth so many laws in Leviticus, it can be easy to think that God seems intent on keeping His distance from unclean, sinful people. But nothing could be further from the truth! God’s law is intended to show us God’s holiness, make us aware of our sin, and provide a way to bridge that gap and restore relationship. Every time Leviticus describes what is holy, clean, and unclean - God provides means of purification and restoration. As you read Leviticus 11-15, remember that ceremonial impurity didn’t necessarily mean someone had sinned or even that they had “bad hygiene.” These laws were a reminder that all of creation was damaged by sin and in need of restoration. Every aspect of our life - even the good or unavoidable parts - can remind us of our need for salvation and restoration. In providing means of purification, God shows us that everything that is touched by sin can be restored by Him, and points us to the promise that in Jesus, all things are being made new.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
