Our typical Sunday is, well, anything but typical. You can expect some things to stay the same week to week though: friendly people, seriously great music, and relevant scripture-based topics delivered with humor.
We want you to feel right at home when you come to Paradox for the first time, so here are some answers to common questions. We can admit that we didn't anticipate EVERY question, so feel free to email us at info@paradoxchurch.com with any questions OR come check us out and make your way to the Hub downstairs (you can’t miss it), and they can answer any questions you have.
Why are you called Paradox Church?
A paradox is something that is “seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is true." A paradox also “arrests attention and provokes new thought."
We believe this describes our approach to bringing others to faith. Each and every week we strive to demystify the Bible and to understand how God’s truths--as confusing and contradictory as they may seem--have tremendous impact on our day-to-day lives. We seek to do this in a way that will arrest your attention, appeal to your sense of humor, and lead you to a richer relationship with God and his people.
What do you believe?
We are a non-denominational Christian Church. Most of our scripture is read out of the NIV version of the Bible. Click here for more about what we believe.
What do I wear on a Sunday?
Our pastor is comfortable in jeans, and you can be too!
Where are you located?
We are located on southbound Mound Road just south of 12 Mile Road, in the plaza with Cort Furniture and Central Michigan University. Our address is 28241 Mound Road, Warren, MI 48092.
Where do I park?
There is parking available right in front of our building. If parking is full, there is additional parking to the rear of the building.
Where do I go?
Come on in the center entrance. The auditorium is located upstairs. There is an elevator to the rear of the stairwell. There is complimentary coffee, tea and delicious baked goods available at the Café .
What about my kids?
We have a great childcare program called “Journey” for children birth through 5th Grade and an engaging middle-school program called "Revolution" (6th - 8th Grade). Just walk straight to the end of the main hallway to the jungle-themed stand, and the friendly folks there will check in your child(ren). You’ll get a sticker so that only you can pick them up, and you’ll be alerted on screen if they need your attention for any reason.
What's the atmosphere like?
We’re in an auditorium with theater-style seating. Projector screens display announcement videos, music lyrics, and key Bible verses.
What is service like?
The service usually begins with our amazing worship band leading us in two-three contemporary praise songs. One of our teaching pastors will then deliver a message on a relevant topic, supported by scripture and prayer. Short video elements are often used throughout.
How long does service last?
Our services last for a little over an hour.
What are the people like?
Our slogan is “Come as you are; no perfect people allowed”, and we find that to hold pretty true. What you will find is diversity and acceptance; what you don’t find is judgment.
