Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.

READ. Today’s scripture reading is from 2 Samuel 7:8-17 & Matthew 1:1-17
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method.
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
A THOUGHT FROM PASTOR DAVE
There’s no place like home for the holidays. Around this time of year, homes are warmly decorated, full of scented candles of the smell of cookies, with the familiar sound of Christmas music playing in the background. Home is the place you feel safe, most comfortable, fully yourself. Home is the place where the people you love most are.
In the Old Testament, God promised a home for His people. A place of protection, rest, and abundance. A place without worry. This place would be ruled by a good king, David. But this home was never meant to be our “forever home.” This home, and this king, were meant to point us to a coming home (the kingdom of God), with a coming king (Jesus.) Advent is a time when we remember to prepare. Just like we prepare for Jesus’ birth at Christmas, we can live prepared for Jesus’ return. This Advent, make God at home in your life, and make your home in God’s presence.
