Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Matthew 7:7-11. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from 1 Samuel 1 & 2:1-11 (Going Deeper: Isaiah 49:14-16 & Hebrews 6:10)
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
Hannah had good reason to be upset and troubled. Her inability to conceive children made it difficult to fit in with societal and cultural norms. In ancient Middle Eastern culture, children were a source of labor for their families and if a wife was unable to conceive, the husband was given to a servant to bear children for her. “In her deep anguish, Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.” (1 Samuel 1:10). Maybe you’ve found yourself here. Deeply troubled by your circumstances, discontent with God’s timing, and questioning God’s plan. Hannah’s action step shows us how in our darkest moments of doubt, anger, and frustration, we can turn to the one who is in control.
