Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Hebrews 12:1-2. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Hebrews 13 (Going Deeper: Joshua 1:5-9, Matthew 25:34-40 & Revelation 1:8)
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
The book of Hebrews closes by giving us very practical ways that we can love God by loving people through our actions or sacrifices as the scripture puts it. We recognize with every loving act listed, there is a price to pay: our time, comfort, and resources. As followers of Christ, our purpose on earth is to please God, sacrifice our agenda and submit to His. Hebrews 13:20-21 closes with a blessing that is as true for us today as it was for the Hebrew Christians it was written to. The word “peace”, used in the phrase “God of peace”, is thought of as “the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatever sort that is”. Wow! The God of peace will equip YOU, through Christ, to do His will, to be assured of your salvation through Christ, to live a life that is content and pure, and live a life that’s pleasing to Him by serving others. We don’t serve others because we have something to prove or earn salvation. We love God by loving His people. That’s His work in us. As we close our study on Hebrews, ask the Lord how you might please Him today. Are there any needs that you’re aware of that you might be able to meet this week?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
