Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ruth 4:14. Try memorizing it this week!
Today’s reading is from Ruth 4:18-22 (Going Deeper: Matthew 1:2-16 & Ephesians 2:19-22)
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
God’s hand is all over history. From generation to generation, He has purpose and a plan through it all. When we read genealogies in Scripture, we are reminded to zoom out, to remove our narrow focus to see God at work all throughout history. Because we only live one lifetime, it’s easy for us to only think of the present, or maybe if we stretch it, to think of the generation before or behind us. As we see in the book of Ruth, the Lord’s plan and purpose went far beyond Ruth’s marriage to Boaz, or Ruth’s relationship with Naomi. Boaz and Ruth were great grandparents of David, King of Israel! Jesus was to come from this very family line. Maybe you question your significance here on this earth. Maybe you wonder if and how God might ever use you in your tiny corner of the earth. God uses ordinary people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. Our job is to live a life of faithful obedience to God, knowing that our purpose extends far beyond this generation.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.

Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
