Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Proverbs 4:13. Try memorizing it this week!
Today’s reading is from Proverbs 18:10-11, Proverbs 20:29, Proverbs 24:1-12 & Proverbs 25:26-28
THINK. A thought from Pastor Mike…
I know jack squat about making a roux (sauce made with flour and butter for thickening recipes). Thankfully my daughter ,who attended a semester of cooking school, does. This past weekend she displayed these skills as we were making biscuits and gravy. You can give me the finest ingredients and the world’s greatest kitchen to cook in, but my roux would be a mess compared to hers. She has the knowledge to sift the flour and add it slowly to the butter. I would just dump it all together and ruin everything. Today’s readings remind us that to put our trust in worldly thing like our wealth, our heath, etc is foolish without first seeking God’s knowledge and wisdom. God made this universe, and us. What area of your life are you tying to figure out on your own? Try inviting God in. Who has he put in your life who could provide Godly wisdom to you is this area?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
