THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I love those first words of today’s reading. We are God’s coworkers. We ARE God’s workmanship. God started a new work in you and will be faithful to complete it when you came to trust Jesus. His work in you continues as you follow Jesus, surrendering more and more of your life to Him. But God’s work of bringing life - God’s kingdom - doesn’t stop with you. The work of making “all things new” started with Jesus - our foundation, the author and perfecto of our faith, our example - and continues with us. We are God’s co-workers. That’s not passive! God invites us into the process, into His work. First in the transformation of our own lives. Then, in the transformation of others and the world. That work is making our lives, our homes, our church, our neighborhood, our city, our country, and our world a place where God is more and more “at home.” The temple was the visible “home” of God on earth. Today, God’s “home” is in each of us and in all of us together as His Church. God’s dwelling place exists among His people, who are marked and set apart as holy.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
