Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 6:10-20. Today’s reading is from Isaiah 52:7 (Go Deeper: Isaiah 9:2-7, Isaiah 26:1-9, Nahum 1:15, John 16:31-33, & Romans 10:14-17)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
I’ve found out the hard way(s) just how important foot protection can be. I’ve stomped on an iron stake trying to get it into the ground, only to have it go through my shoe into the bottom of my foot. I’ve worn new hiking boots out onto the backpacking trail, only to have them rub blisters onto my feet. I’ve been without flip-flops in some fairly disgusting third-world showers. Roman sandals, made from a leather sole and straps, could be worn for marching or fighting, and were embedded with materials for enhanced traction. Roman soldiers may have worn studded boots instead of sandals. These durable shoes display not only a readiness to carry the gospel forth, but also communicate the peace the gospel brings. What do today’s readings say about the peace of the gospel? Why is gospel readiness essential for spiritual battle? What does it look like to actively bring the peace of the gospel to your life and the lives of others?
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
