Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Revelation 1:8. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Psalm 14, John 19:16-25, 28-30, Hebrews 10:5-18, Ephesians 2:4-9 & Philippians 2:5-11
THINK. A Thought from Holly MacDonald…
Growing up, I was led to believe that it was up to me whether or not I was “granted access” into Heaven. I’m sure that I am not alone. I found myself comparing my sin to others and wondering if I was “good enough to get in” or if that sin just crossed me off the list. Funny enough though, I never knew where that line was! It was all a guessing game. I could have reasoned my way out of how little white lies, quick gossip moments, selfish motives, etc. were not as bad as ____ (you fill in the blank). I thought about this often, honestly, at even a young age. Hearing the true Gospel for the first time was the most relieving moment of my life. The Gospel sets us free! You don’t deserve it. You can’t earn it. No, you’re not “good enough” on your own to make it. But Jesus! Thankfully, Jesus submitted to the will of God, still no less God Himself, to become guilty to cover the guilty. Your merit is not the key to your salvation. It never was and never will be. Jesus’ sacrifice is completely sufficient and capable of saving every single human being and making man completely right with God. Praise God that it’s not up to us. No gift can ever compare to the mercy of God when He sent Jesus to take our place. May you rest in God’s grace today, knowing you are covered fully by the blood of Jesus and may you be confident in His promise of eternal life!
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
TALK. That was our take on today’s reading - what’s yours? Share thoughts and ask questions in the forum.
SHARE. Stay focused with a friend! Invite them to text “FOCUS” to (586) 200-6277.
Stay focused on Jesus today, and make it a great one!
