A New Day. The Dawn of a New Era. We’ve heard and used the phrases for everything from a sports signing to a social movement, court case, or a political victory. It’s the same language the Bible uses to describe the coming of Jesus - and that we can use for his return. Jesus came to set the captive and the oppressed free, and to rule over a kingdom. This kingdom wouldn’t be limited to a people group, a geographical boundary, or a term limit. This kingdom would be marked by joy, freedom, prosperity, justice and righteousness for all, for all time. FOR us a child is born. TO us a son is given. This is the good news of great joy the angel spoke of at Jesus’ birth. A new day is rising, and along with it - hope. Rejoice! Emmanuel (God With Us) has come and is coming again.
