Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.

THANK.
Write down 5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.

READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Exodus 33:12-23 & Exodus 34:5-9 & 29-35
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method.

  • S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?

  • O: What am I being invited to obey?

  • S: What can I share with those around me?

A THOUGHT FROM PASTOR DAVE
One of the best things about the holiday season is that, perhaps like no other time of year, people get together. We make plans. Seeing the people we love (and even the people we don’t) becomes our top priority. We spend time together. We live out this fundamental truth: presence matters.

Moses realized this. His top priority was the presence of God. In a conversation with God, Moses asks God about presence - who will be with him? God promises the only thing Moses really wants anyway - I will be with you. More than anything else, more than anyone else, Moses wants the presence of God. In fact, he’s so committed to God’s presence that he says ‘If your presence does not go, don’t make us go…’ We often want the place or the way more than the presence. We may ask God to “go with us,” but do we want God’s presence so much that we’re willing to say, like Moses, ‘I only want to go where you’re going and do what you’re doing.’ Teach me your ways, because being with you matters most. When we spend time with God, when we commit to going His way, we start seeing Him - His glory, signs of God’s real, tangible, even physical presence - everywhere, and we start looking more like Him. When we’re present to God, God is present to us in such a real and constant way that our presence becomes the sign of God’s real, tangible, physical presence to others. This advent, be present. And radiate God’s glory to everyone you’re with - because God’s presence is the greatest present you can give or receive.
