Good Morning!
If you’re new here, welcome! Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP FOCUS | 5-15 Minutes
Worship can be as simple as thanking God for who He is & what He does. (Psalm 100:4)
Each day of this study, look for the #21DaysofThankfulness challenge in the Focus.
1. Start out by writing or saying out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for.
2. Play or sing some worship music you love, or use this Thanksgiving Playlist.
SCRIPTURE FOCUS | 5-15 Minutes
Pray a simple prayer before reading, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. (John 14:26)
Today’s reading is from Luke 7:36-50, Ephesians 2:4-10 & 2 Corinthians 4:7-15
Highlight verses that capture your attention, and ask three simple questions as you read…
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
One of the best ways to learn more about the Bible is by discussing it with others.
Work through this week’s Discussion Guide and meet up with a Paradox Lifegroup.
A THOUGHT FROM TODAY’S READING…
My friends and I got away with A LOT of crap in high school. Mostly harmless, mischievous stuff. There were a few things though that we got away with that I wish I could take back. Even though I suffered no repercussions for those actions, I remember feeling very guilty. Conversely, I will never forget the time we snuck out of school at lunch to go buy Metallica tickets from Harmony House. When we tried to sneak in the back door that we had left propped open for ourselves, the assistant principal was right there and we were stone cold busted. Not known to be a lenient disciplinarian, on this day Mr Anderson let us slide. What a great feeling it was to know we deserved punishment for breaking a known rule and yet we received forgiveness instead.
We follow a loving and MERCIFUL God. He himself has opted to take the punishment for the known rules that we break. Jesus forgave the woman weeping over his feet many, many years ago, and he forgives us when we repent today. As if that weren’t enough, we read in Ephesian that God “made us alive together with Christ—by grace we have been saved— and raised up with him and seated with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show us the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness”.
This school-skipping metalhead is very thankful! - Mike Nank

1. Try memorizing and meditating on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 during this study.
2. Today is #givingtuesday. Say “thanks” by giving generously somewhere. If the Focus is meaningful for you, we’d be grateful for your support! You can give at paradoxchurch.com/give #21DaysofThankfulness
