Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Leviticus 20:26. Try memorizing it during this study!
Today’s reading is from Leviticus 20 (Going Deeper: 1 Peter 1:15-16)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Mike…
Well here we go. Leviticus 20 can be controversial. The controversy doesn’t stem from unclarity though, as God gives Moses a very descriptive list of specific acts and corresponding specific consequences. The problem is our judgement of God’s judgements of these situations. The list starts with saying that those who sacrifice their children to the false god Molech should be put to death. Most people would say “heck yeah” to that one. But when it comes to God’s judgement of certain sexual relationships, like men sleeping with other men, we think God is too harsh, or just plain wrong. What is HOLY? What is RIGHT? What is TRUE? There can be only one answer to these questions. If the answer is “it is in the eye of the beholder and up to each person to decide”, then the very concepts of truth and holiness are negated. I believe God who created this universe is holy. He is truth (John 14:6). I may not understand all his reasons but I will accept his leading and trust him. Like a good parent, he wants what’s best for his children and has a unique, holy perspective for us to follow.

LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
