Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
If you’re new to the Daily Focus, read this first.
GET FOCUSED | Worship can be as simple as thanking God for who He is & what He does. (Psalm 100:4)
Spend a few moments in silence, meditating on scripture, or writing/saying 3-5 things you’re thankful for.
Play or sing some worship music you love, or use a playlist from Paradox on Spotify.
MORNING PRAYER FOCUS | Prayer is a conversation that involves both talking and listening to God.
Use the PRAY acronym to guide your prayer this morning.
P = Pause. As you start your time of prayer, begin by pausing and being still before the Lord.
R = Read. Read the Scripture Focus slowly and focus on words/phrases the Holy Spirit highlights as you read.
A = Ask. Ask God to come and speak to you. Open up your heart to Him as your heavenly Father.
Y = Yield. We want to yield our lives to the words we have prayed and commit to follow Jesus’s way.
SCRIPTURE FOCUS | Today’s reading is from Acts 9:1–31; Jeremiah 31:32–33; Galatians 1:11–16
Pray a simple prayer before reading, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. (John 14:26)
Highlight verses that capture your attention, and ask three simple questions as you read…
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
A THOUGHT FROM TODAY’S READING…
One of my favorite things in life is seeing the “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign on at Krispy Kreme. There’s just nothing like fresh - fresh doughnuts, fresh bread, fresh sheets, that fresh feeling you get after a haircut or a nice warm shower. And sometimes, we all need a fresh start. Ever feel like you've messed up so bad that there's no way to bounce back? Trust me, you're not alone. But here's the good news - we have a God who specializes in fresh starts. The “Hot Now” sign is always on, so to speak. Take Acts 9:1-31 for example. We meet Saul, a guy who was seriously messing up not only his own life, but persecuting and killing Christians. Until one day, one moment, when he encountered Jesus and he goes from persecutor to preacher. Fresh start. In Jeremiah 31:32-33, God promises a new covenant. This new covenant, written on our hearts - not old stone tablets, is the God of fresh starts saying, "I want a real relationship with you. I want to be so close that my ways become your ways, not because you have to follow rules, but because you want to." Back to Galatians 1:11-16, where Paul (formerly Saul) talks about his calling. He admits, it wasn’t because he deserved it, but because God had a purpose for him—even when he was at his worst. So today, no matter how far off track you might feel, the God of the new promise is ready to give you a fresh start, just like He did for Paul. Our past mistakes don't disqualify us from His grace and purpose. Let that sink in. God isn’t looking for perfect people to invite into His kingdom purposes - just a heart that says “yes.” If God can turn Saul into Paul, just imagine the fresh start He’s waiting to give you. The invitation light is on - are you ready to come in for something fresh? You’re never too far, and it’s never too late to start. - Dave Kubiak
