Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists & let it play in the background.
FOCUS. Our memorization & meditation focus for this study is John 1:12-13.

O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
THINK. A Thought from Renee Richter
What does your family history look like? Does it make you proud of those things accomplished for and with God? Was your family courageous, loving, successful, and honorable? Searching your family history can be exciting, eye-opening, elicit pride, or sometimes make you cringe. When searching my family history, I found all of these things - the good, the bad, and the ugly. When we take the time to read and look into Jesus’s family history, we will likely find something that makes us go, “Hmmmm, I wasn’t expecting that!” Today, we read about some good, bad, and ugly, but I want to focus on the good - two points of redemption. Today we read the account of Adam and the woman discussing their sin with God and facing the consequences of the sin. Once God informed Adam, the woman, and the serpent of the consequences of their sin, the next verse reveals Adam naming the woman God created for him. He gave her the name Eve, which sounds like the Hebrew word for “life-giver.” During the depiction of God’s discussion of each person’s punishment for the sin committed, we witnessed the blame shifting that occurred with Adam and the woman. “It was him!” “No, it was her!” But in the end, Adam doesn’t abandon this precious gift from God. Instead, he displays redemption and love by naming her Eve, the bringer of life. The two were escorted out of the garden together and remained together, obeying God and bringing forth life into the world and into their family. The second act of redemption depicted was after a horrible tragedy in this first family. Out of jealousy and disobedience to God, who took the time to speak to Cain, Cain killed his brother. The first family endured a horrific event, the loss of two sons - one from murder and one from punishment for the murder. Adam and Eve remain together during this tragedy, and God, in His redemption, gives them Seth. The Hebrew meaning for Seth is appointed or placed. Seth was appointed and placed by God into the lives of Eve and Adam after a horrific tragedy resulting in being in the line of Jesus Christ.
