Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists & let it play in the background.
FOCUS. Our memorization & meditation focus for this study is Amos 5:24.
Breathe in & out slowly. Pray, Jesus, you are just & righteous. Flow through me.
THANK. Write down or say out loud 3-5 things you’re thankful for from the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Read Psalm 103:6-10. Focus on one truth about who God is & thank Him for it.
PRAY.
Pray the Lord’s Prayer, a Ripple Prayer, or find more at paradoxchurch.com/pray.
READ.
Today’s reading is from Amos 9 & Hebrews 1:1-12
ASK. After reading, ask the following SOS Questions & journal your thoughts.
S = Say. What is the main point? What does it teach about God (Jesus) & yourself?
O = Obey. What can you apply (practice) from this passage today?
S = Share. Who can you share what you’re learning with today?
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave
Today’s reading begins with language of destruction. Keep in mind the truths that you read above in Psalm 103:6-10 (Now would be a good time to go back and read it if you haven’t already!) because destruction isn’t the end. It’s not the same as being ‘totaled.’ Even in judgment and destruction there is evidence of God’s goodness and heart. Even when people have ignored warnings, when we’ve stubbornly gone our own way or continued in sin, or where our life is surrounded by the remains of a situation destroyed by sin - it’s not over. God’s not finished yet. Today, no matter how bad the damage, you’re not totaled. God’s heart has always been to restore, repair, and rebuild. Let today be the day God begins His process of restoration, repair, and rebuilding in your life. What patterns of injustice and unrighteousness have you seen, experienced, and practiced in your own life? Where do you need to repent? And how can you move forward, allowing God to repair the damage to your heart, life, and relationships and building a new life and God’s kingdom as you reflect God through the active pursuit of justice and righteousness?
