THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
2x2. 2 Timothy 2:2 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. It sums up so much of what we’re called to be about as Christians: discipleship. You may have heard that word before, especially if you’ve been around church for a while. But what does it mean? This verse comes as close to a definition as you’re going to get. Take what you’ve heard (whether you heard it for the first time yesterday at church or have been following Jesus your entire life) and give it away. But discipleship doesn’t stop there. Not only are we to have “spiritual parents” (notice Paul calls Timothy “son” in verse 1), but parents should have grandchildren in mind. What that means is not just that we make disciples, but that we do it in such a way that our disciples make disciples of their own. That’s what discipleship is - one person helping another follow Jesus who helps others do the same. Not sure where to start? Look for faithfulness. Who in your life is following Jesus in a way that you would want to learn/imitate? And who in your life shows interest in Jesus in you? If you’re not sure, getting in a LifeGroup is a great way to start. You can use the Discipleship App with someone, or simply go through the Daily Focus together!

PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
