THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
One of my favorite lines of one of my favorite movies comes at a moment in “Remember the Titans” when the identity and mission of the team is most at stake. The team gets away for an integrated camp before going back to a school that had, up until recently, been segregated. The goal? To build character, form bonds, create culture, and become a family. Without those things, their mission would be impossible. After being called out by the captain for having a bad attitude, one member of the team responds with, “Attitude reflects leadership, Captain.” The church is called to be a family - God’s household, as verse 15 puts it. Our goal is to build character, form bonds, create culture, and become a family in a very different and sometimes hostile world… so that we can accomplish the mission God has given us. That’s why leadership is so important. Whether you’re a pastor, elder, director, lifegroup leader, team leader, kids leader, or the spiritual leader of your home… God has entrusted a family to you. Build character. Form bonds. Create culture. Live on mission. Start with you, and lead God’s household well.

LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a lifegroup/church friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations. Pick one each day or pray through them all every day.
