Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Our Scripture Focus is Ephesians 6:10-20. Today’s reading is from Psalm 55:16-18. (Go Deeper: Daniel 9:17-19, Matthew 6:5-15, Philippians 4:14-16, & 1 John 5:14-15)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
We’ve been talking about battle over the last few weeks. Remember, believers both in the early church and the church today find themselves existing in the tension of the already-and-not-yet nature of the kingdom of God. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection on earth guaranteed eternal victory for believers and gave us confidence and peace that evil and darkness will not win in the end. But until Jesus’ return, we continue to engage in battles of spiritual warfare. The armor of God describes the spiritual tools we have been given to engage in these battles while we anticipate Christ’s triumphant return. One of the best tools we have in the meantime is prayer. Though not specifically called out as a piece of armor, prayer is essential to moving from self-sufficiency to dependence on the Holy Spirit. All the equipment we’ve discussed is accessed through the power of prayer. Take time to reflect on each of the pieces of armor given to us in Christ. Pray to be strengthened in truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and God’s Word.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
