Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 31-32 (Go Deeper: 1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Back in the day, I remember writing research papers and reports for school. One of the most important - maybe even the most important - things that had to be included was a “works cited” page. You had to acknowledge the source. Let people know whose work this was. Give credit where credit was due. In school, failing to do so is called “plagiarism.” In life, it’s called “sin.” It’s not wrong to be successful. It’s not wrong to have wealth, fame, beauty, influence, talent, ability, intelligence, or recognition. God gets right to the source in Ezekiel 31, when He says, “I made it…” Today, go back to the beginning. What are 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours? We naturally tend to think of the things God has given. But this time, go back and Thank God simply for who He is and what He’s done. (Use this list if you need inspiration). Sinful pride is taking all the credit for what God has done. Gratitude (and worship) is giving credit where credit is due.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
