Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.
THANK. Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Ezekiel 20:32-49 & Ezekiel 21 (Go Deeper: 1 Peter 3:18-21)
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Sometimes at our house, Gwyn and I will say to our kids, “I love you too much to let you…” (Fill in the blank with inappropriate or destructive behavior of the day.) Why? Because we care about the people they’re becoming. We care about what happens to them. This is part of the reason (and necessity) of judgment. God loves us too much to let us… (Fill in the blank.) At times, we’ve all thought “Why can’t I just be like everyone else? Why can’t I do what everyone else does?” The truth is, as a follower of Jesus, you’re not like everyone else. (Why would you want to be?) God says to people, who He loves, essentially, “Go find out how good everyone else doesn’t have it. You’ll live a life of regret and it will lead to a whole lot of pain. I love you too much to spare you from those consequences now, in hopes that I can spare you from greater consequences later.” Thank God that, even in our sin, God deals with us according to who He is and not what we’ve done.
LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
