There are fifty-two uses of the Hebrew word “ruah,” translated “spirit” or “wind” in Ezekiel. Because of this, Ezekiel has been referred to as the prophet of the Spirit. As you read, notice how the prophet’s ministry is greatly influenced by the movement of the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel’s many encounters give us insight into the work and ministry of the Spirit. Throughout Ezekiel, the Spirit demonstrates God’s energizing power, fills people - equipping them to speak God’s words, leads and guides people to help them fulfill God’s mission, and brings new life and transformation. What do you need the Holy Spirit to do today? Ask God specifically for that. Do you feel tired, worn out, hopeless, or overwhelmed? Ask for energizing power from the Holy Spirit. Do you need words in a situation or conversation? Ask God for the Holy Spirit to give you words, and trust that He will. Do you want to make a difference or see people know and love Jesus more? Ask the Holy Spirit to ordain opportunities for you to step into today. Do you feel like changing your life, let alone the world, is more than you can do? Ask the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do. Holy Spirit, we love you. Come in power today!
