Good Morning!
Let’s focus our day by spending some time with Jesus before it begins.

THANK.
Write down 5 things you’re thankful for in the last 24 hours.
WORSHIP. Pick a song from one of our Spotify Playlists and let it play in the background.
PRAY. Pray for yourself, a family member, a friend, someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and the nations.
READ. Today’s scripture reading is from Luke 4:16-20
THINK. A Thought from Pastor Dave…
Paradox Church is part of a larger movement of churches throughout the world called Antioch (learn more at antioch.org) We’re taking 22 Days to pray together for 2022. Find today’s prayer here.

One of the things I regularly ask (and rightly so) when reading scripture is, “What would this have meant to the people who originally heard it?” While that question is foundational, it ultimately falls short of what God intends. Simply understanding or knowing more about scripture is not the “end goal.” One of the things I love most about what Jesus does is to not leave the scripture in the past. Jesus takes it one step further - what does this scripture mean today? God wants to do something in us and through us when we read the Bible. Sure, it was written in a certain time, in a certain place, and to certain people. It’s important to understand what it would have meant to them. But even more important is to ask, “What does this mean for me, today?” God doesn’t just make promises - He wants to fulfill them! As we take practical action on what we’ve read, we actually meet God in new ways, know Him in a deeper, more meaningful way, and see our life and the world around us change. When we see God’s promises fulfilled in our own life by trusting and obeying Him, we find greater fulfillment. Pay special attention to the “O” question below today. How is God inviting you into fulfillment today?

Worship - Join us for a night of worship and prayer to close the 22 days with the House of Prayer on Thursday, February 3 at 6pm at Paradox Church in Warren.

LIVE. One practical way to understand and apply the Bible is the SOS method. Ask…
S: What does this passage say about God, and what does it say about me?
O: What am I being invited to obey?
S: What can I share with those around me?
CONNECT. Have a question, prayer request, thought, or story? Let us know at paradoxchurch.com/connect
